One of the many divine things about Bali are the secrets that lay hidden where one least expects them. Down a charming road weaving through the rice fields to Echo Beach lays just a secret, Villa Ragali.
Set in arguably the most enchanting garden on the island, Villa Ragali is nothing short of majestic.
Its two large residences – 512m² and 445m² respectively each with own swimming pool - are unique.
Residence A is quite an extraordinary pavilion design featuring an open plan living area 20m x 10m, stratospheric pitched ceilings, with a mezzanine level to die for.
An antique Javanese hand carved wooden wall opens to a master suite. Crossing a suspended walk way, the adjoining guest house offers two additional bedrooms both with ensuite.
Residence B reflects a more traditional Balinese architectural style. The ground floor features an open plan living/dining area. The first floor features two bedrooms both with ensuite. The lofty second floor offers two additional open style bedrooms and has its own sitting/ recreational area. Both the first and second floor are mezzanine style with a void all the way down to the ground floor. Coupled with wonderful high ceilings, these mezzanines give a sense of space rarely seen these days.
Built to exacting standards in 1998, Villa Ragali is surrounded on three sides by river. The moat like effect creates a sense of privacy and security, and indeed enhances the villa’s country residence feel. Wide timber floorboards, solid teak doors and windows add to the overall effect.
Residences A & B are set on over 6000m2 of stunning gardens with joglo buildings, a rice barn and a magical carved wooden playhouse – exquisite antique pots and statues are included in the sale price.
